Universal digital modulator can be achieved with a platform for different digital modulation methods and thus a much wider application. To achieve universal digital modulator There are many ways to the application of DDS technology is one of them, DDS has a very fast frequency switching time (typically in the order of tens of ns), high frequency resolution (Hz can be achieved micro-level) , low phase noise and frequency agility can be in the continuous phase change, etc.. GM figures in this paper the design of the modulator, we have adopted is the use of CORDIC algorithm to replace the real-time computing sine look-up table in the DDS phase to achieve the conversion rate to overcome the use of DDS when ROM table phase truncation error.This article introduces the research background and at home and abroad for the DDS and CORDIC Algorithm situation and the needs of digital modulator of the theoretical basis is described, followed by analysis of the principle of the CORDIC algorithm, structure and error, a common digital modulation The design and simulation, and finally realized in the FPGA in the digital modulator.
