An important development trend of modern radar detection at sea is to obtain more detail information about the target. By enhancing the signal bandwidth of radar, the range resolution of radar becomes high enough that the targets can be recognized and sea-clutter can be fragmentized. The broadband radar signals reflected from targets have characteristics of random parameters. They are different from narrowband radar signals even reflected from the same target. So, it has been a new research field to suppress clutters and detect targets just using one broadband radar signals and then to realize the integration of detection, tracing, imaging and recognizing of targets.In addition, it has been a new important field to design "General-purpose Radar Real-time Signal Processing System" by using several high speed DSPs that has the characteristics of modular design, flexible structure, large calculation capability and general-purpose utility.The paper carried out following work:1. By analyzing record data from a certain radar platform, acquire the sea-clutter characteristic in specific broadband conditions.2. Analyse the high range resolution characteristic of broadband target based on practical target return data, and discuss the detection methods on broadband radar.3. Aiming at features of broadband detection, configurate a high-speed real time signal processing system with flexible construction and modularized design advantages, thus complete the engineering design of the detection method.
