Design And Implementation Of Digital Home Gateway Based On ARM

with the development of the science and society as well as the digital of the home environment, household facilities with information and network capabilities are being asked to perform information exchange, at the same time, it should make the network and the unified management for household facilities on the agenda. Current solution is combine all the household facilities into a local area network with the embedded home gateway, and achieves the management of home facilities on this basis. As the same time, the gateway can perform the conversion of communication between LAN and the Internet, achieve remote control.In this paper, it carries out an in-depth study and discussion on the software and some hardware of the embedded home gateway. The main work of this paper is the following:(1) A basic home gateway is setuped based on the Linux operation system by using the MCP2515 CAN controller and S3C2410 development board.(2) The driver of MCP2515 CAN bus controller, the network communication process, the node management process and protocol conversion process are programmed under the Linux development environment; these programs form the three layers of the entire system, including the network layer, the protocol conversion layer and the driver layer. Through these layers work together to achieve a conversion between TCP/IP protocol and CAN protocol on a home gateway.(3) Base on the CAN bus protocol, an innovative application layer protocol is preliminary made; this application layer protocol gives the capabilities of management and reliable batch data transmision to the home gateway on the CAN bus.Test proves the program is feasible. In this paper, the digital home gateway has the advantage of small size and high reliability, the CAN bus has the advantage of easy installation, the entire system and has a vast space for development.
