The Research And Design Of Portable MP3 Based On USB OTG Technology

The USB(Universal Serial Bus),one of the most important bus specifications in PC peripheral interconnect technology,has lead a rapid development since it had been released as a industry-standard,with the its obvious benefits,such as high speed,robustness,easy-of-use,and low-cost solution.USB interface has become the most inclined standard interface for the interconnection between PC and peripheral devices,such as portable storage devices,digital products and portable communication devices.How to make portable equipment interconnect and communicate with each other direct in case of no PC participates in, make USB devices break away from the complete reliance on PC? Is precisely under this kind of new demand, USB On-The-Go arises at the historic moment. USB OTG is the development of USB, is the important supplyment of USB2.0. The main purpose of USB_IF proposed the USB OTG protocol is to enhance interconnection between mobile equipments. OTG equipment is also appears in the market gradually, it is necessary to study such technology which have the potencial development, is also has the market value very much.The thesis puts forward a design of OTG-MP3 system based on the OTG technology,which is a typical application in portable field.Generally there are two modes of USB technology could be used in embedded systems,one is the USB device mode(U-disk,USBmoving disk,MP3 and etc) using as USB Devices and the other is USB host mode using as USB Host Controllers(PC). Data transmission must start and control by the host devices every time,two hosts or two devices can not communicate directly.OTG Devices not only act as Host Controllers but also act as USB Devices, two OTG Devices interconnect and communicate with each other directly without PC.OTGMP3 system both can play like common MP3 and can play the audio file in U-disk, USB mobile disk and SD Card.These devices can communicate with each other directly by USBOTG interface.The system is composed of master control module, USB OTG interface module, MP3 audio broadcast module, SD reader module, FLASH module ,FM-Rx module, circuits of key input ,LCD and Power control. The paper explains the details of OTGMP3 development from the software and hardware.
