With the acceleration of the social life and the increasing of aging in humans, cardiovascular disease has become one of the major diseases which can threaten the health of people, and even lives. What's more, such kind of disease just happen without expectation. So that discover and cure it not in time will cause some terrible consequences. Accordingly, it is inevitable to develop a kind of monitoring instrument with portable, economical, and practical characteristics, for the purpose of self-discovering, self-diagnosing and self-nursing for the patients themselves. And recently, the rapid development of the embedded systems technology provides a good technical condition for such studies.This thesis intends to design a portable intelligent monitoring terminal based on multi-sensor information fusion, through the collecting of heart sound sensor and pulse sensor etc. and data processing and analysing of heart sounds and pulse signals related with cardiovascular disease when they passing through the microprocessor, and utilizing multi-sensor information fusion to diagnose the function of heart-blood in humans. It can uninterruptedly monitor the patients and check the condition of these patients in time, showing the rerults in the LCD screen, and alarm automatically when something get worse, for receiving rapid cure.The general design of the hardware structure and the software system of the intelligent monitoring terminal is given out. The hardware platform of the intelligent monitoring terminal use SamSung's S3C2410A embedded ARM920T microprocessor as the controlling core. Besides, memory modules (including NOR Flash, SDRAM, SD-data memory cards and so on),power modules, signal acquisition and recuperate modules, LCD display module, alarm module also will be expanded. The design of hardware system also includes a keyboard circuit, clock circuit, reset circuit, JTAG debug circuit etc. The realization of the various parts of the design is given a detailed exposition in this thesis.Based on the hardware platform, the monitoring terminal software is designed in accordance with the layered software system of the operating system, middleware, application procedures, through transplanting embedded operating systemμC/OS-Ⅱ. This makes it easier to maintain and upgrade software. The software of the intelligent monitoring terminals are discussed in detail in this thesis. This design implements the hardware driver modules, communication protocols and applications. The whole application is divided into six tasks in terms of the function, improving the reliability and real-time of the system, through scheduling by the operating system core. Applications achieve a friendly man-machine interface and the function of automatic analysis of the physiological signals, and focus on the multi-sensor information fusion of the D-S evidence theory software, phonocardiogram and pulse wave recognizing algorithm, and automatical diagnosis algorithm.The portable intelligent monitoring terminal system has friendly interface, easily-operated, scalable and highly flexible, and can achieve low-cost and real-time care. The paper describes the above all in details, reaches the basic design requirements and lays a good foundation for further research and development.
