The Research Of Vehicles Information Gathering And Data Fusion Based On Multi-ultrasonic Sensor

The research of this article is based on the horizontal issue "The pivotal technologies of highway network—the distribution characteristic information gathering and application of transportation flow": In recent years, the research of intelligent transportation system obtained the widespread attention. Transportation information gathering and fusion processing technology are becoming the hot spot. Simultaneously, it also has become the first problem of ITS whether or not to be realized in socialized synthesis application.Massive references have been consulted, and then the historical development and present situation of domestic and foreign ITS have been elaborated. In view of our country road traffic realistic situation, unified the existing traffic control system, the plan has been put forward: multi-sensor information fusion in vehicles information gathering based on DSP. Using multi-ultrasonic sensor compose sensor array to scan the travel vehicles' geometric parameter, then using DSP carry on D-S evidence theory to process the information which sensor array collected. Upload the fusion result to the PC, then through PC analysis travel vehicles' length, width, height, and velocity.The system can be divided into three parts in structure: sensor gathering array, DSP fusion board, superior machine. The sensor gathering array is constituted by many ultrasonic sensor gathering boards. Ultrasonic sensor gathering board collects the vehicles' information from different point by using AT89S52 control the ultrasonic sensor send and receive ultrasonic. DSP fusion board's hardware uses TMS320VC5509DSP as controller and expands peripheral circuit; its fusion algorithm is D-S evidence theory. The superior machine is PC, run data analysis software on PC, obtains the accurate vehicle's length, width, height and velocity information, and display the result on screen by the form of table or electronic map. The three parts communicate with each other and constitute a whole system. DSP fusion board and every ultrasonic gathering board use 485 communication format. DSP fusion board and PC use Ethernet communication format.The article presents a basic solution which based on DSP and multi-sensor data fusion technology in vehicle information gathering, and brings the transportation information gathering system some new features. The experiences and solution summarized in this paper would be of great referenced values for both the transportation information gathering system and the development applications in the future.
