Photoelectric detectors (PE) used in detecting high-energy laser beam may be exposed to laser irradiation of high irradiance or energy density causing sever damage even failure. The knowledge about laser damage thresholds is relevant considering photoelectric counter measure. In this thesis fundamental researches on intense laser indused damage are performed. First of all papers from the laser and photoelectric detector mechanism of interaction, from the micro-analysis of the laser and photoelectric detector interaction. We have designed laser radiation photoelectric detector optical experiments. Through the experiment, we measured the different laser energy density on the photoelectric detector by the damage. Using a microscope, scanning electron microscopy we collected images of the experiments. The experimental data was analyzed by the relevant theories. Finally, some of the issues were described in which were concerning the photoelectric detector damage threshold measurements. The obtained results are of importance for further studies of laser indused damage and anti-damage. |
