The thesis gives the key technologies of superscalar processor---pipeline and superscalar, probes into the architecture characters of ZSP400 and operation principles of every functional module. Starting with the former work, analyzes the design particularity of C application based on ZSP400, shows the motive, significance and feasibility about optimization, and illustrates the general optimization flow of C program. Proposes some optimization methods based on C language by improving C program structure and integrating the architecture features of ZSP400, writes some simple demonstration programs using these methods, compiles and debugs the unoptimized and optimized programs with ZViewIDE respectively. According to comparing their statistic information, judges whether the optimized programs'performance is enhanced, thus verifies the validity and feasibility of optimization methods. In the end, the thesis optimizes C implementation programs based on Discrete Cosine Transform algorithms with the help of optimization methods proposed by above paragraphs, enhances the programs'performance prominently, and further verifies the validity and feasibility of optimization methods. All the simulation results of the thesis were got under the condition that automatic optimization level of ZViewIDE C Compiler was set as superlative degree(-03 level).
