With the rapid economic development and continuous improvement of people's living standard,more and more attention has been paid to security issues.The expansion of market demand and the development of information technology promote the continuous development of video surveillance technologies.Video surveillance applications continue to expand into all aspects of life such as education,government, transportation,entertainment,medical services.Digitalization and networking are trends of modern monitoring technology.In this paper,first,we summarize the current situation and development of modern video surveillance technology,and analyze that the key to modern video surveillance is to process video quickly and reduce the transmission bandwidth.To support multi-channel video compression and transmission simultaneously,the system must improve data compression ratio,reduce transmission bandwidth and improve processing speed of video data;therefore,effective performance of video encoder in monitors becomes very important.On this basis,a multi-channel IP video surveillance design scheme is made,in which hardware platforms based on TMS320DM6446 and efficient H.264 compression algorithm are adopted to realize real-time multi-channel coding.This article focuses on the IP video surveillance video encoder's research and implementation.Analysis of the principle of digital video compression and study on certain key technologies of H.264,we get its advantages and disadvantages.The encoder of H.264 has high compression ratio,and saves transmission bandwidth,but it costs a larger computation overhead;therefore,a suitable processing platform is the key to realize efficient H.264 algorithm.According to C64+'s hardware and software architecture features,I improve the code structure and data structure to perform Algorithm-level and code-level optimization;For the use of multimedia instruction set of C64+ processor to optimize the key modules,the coder's efficiency is greatly improved;For the convenience of other module's reference,I design the H.264 encoder module in line with the xDM interface standard.Through experiments on hardware platform we verify that the H.264 algorithm module can perform CIF format video data compression,and it is compression rate achieve to about 63fps,with good image quality to meet the 2-way IP Video Surveillance Project's requests.The realization of this video encoder is of great importance to IP Video Surveillance Project.And the encoder has Independent intellectual property rights,can be widely used in areas needing efficient image compression,such as mobile TV and wireless multimedia terminal for car.It has practical value to the research and development of video products.
