As industrial technical progressing, Internet business growth explosivly and wireless access growing fast, video Surveillance with its convenient, intuitive, content-rich are more and more have attracted people. And with the development of embedded technology, its advantages as low power consumption, high reliability, strong real-time and portability have attracted all over the world.In recent years, embedded video surveillance have becomed the mainstream. Currently, embedded video monitoring chip scheme mainly include RISC+RISC structure, RISC+DSP structure, RISC+FPGA structure and so on. However, defects exit in all above methods, for example, poor flexibility, bad suitability for doing single chip system, disconnection with system control and algorithm processing. Currently, developing in embedded video monitoring system based on DM6446-based has become a hot point in monitoring area.Considered the reliability of the 3G NCS's transmission, the highcomplexity of H.264 algorithm as well as the flexibility of the system, this paper shows a new video surveillance system realized on DM6446 design, in core of TI TMS320DM6446 chip,this processor integrats the ARM and DSP dual-core, and on the basis of this, this article researchs and developes the real-time video processing system and realizes human-computer interaction interface, communication between ARM and DSP. Based on some kinds of video algorithms, to realize the porting of algorithms on DSP side, which realizes functions of video capture, H.264 compression and network transmission. And meet the requirement of video real-time processing.The results show that video capturing, processing and displaying function have achieved expected results, and met the requirement of function control and real-time processing.
