At present, LED backlight technology as a new type of backlight already occupies a space in the display field.LED-based backlight control technology, but also increasingly becoming the subject of new development. At home, LED applies to large-size LCD backlight design, since 2006, upgraded to 863 country focus on the development of the subject.The paper first briefly introduced the principle of liquid crystal display, FPGA application and development, as well as the LED backlight design method, and then referrence to LED backlight control of domestic and foreign technical literature, the focus of the work of this paper - white LED backlight LCD TV area dynamic control algorithm analyzed and discussed.This paper focuses on being an impact of area dynamic control LED backlight over liquid crystal display performance, the LED backlight hardware design of LCD is only a simple introduction. The paper proposed algorithm of LED area dynamic control has greatly enhanced the contrast of LCD, CCFL backlight original problems of LCD Leaky ordinary low-grayscale has been significantly improved.The algorithm has been effective for saving energy and reducing consumption, after a preliminary measurement,this algorithm saves energy more than 30% on average. Adding the ambient light factor to the deal of backlight, the algorithm can give a long and comfortable viewing experience,and can save energy Efficiently.This paper introduces the functions of each module in the algorithm, and the specific implementation of the algorithm.The results of this paper has been successfully applied to the first batch of domestic-listed 42-inch ultra-thin LED backlight TV, to achieve a good cost-effective, have broad application prospects.
