The traditional data storage front side faces an all-directions technique innovation. In the face of a new type data intensive application, an internetize application of business enterprise, and the development of internet, The network storage displaced the traditional directed storage of predominant position, is already an irresistible general trend.The university Digital library, as the information platform of various colleges and universities, for in the school teachers' and students' daily study, the work and the scientific research has provided the good platform to obtain information. As more and more key information into digital form and stored in the managed media, network produces a new need for the ability of storage and manangement information. This makes the StorageAreaNetwork get construction and development. The StorageAreaNetwork in the network environment can guarantee the information data of safty storage and backup, the Digital Library available to the teachers and students a safe, reliable information consulting services to meet the higher education and scientific research needs.This text, starting with the OceanUniversityOfChina SAN project of oneself special features, studied the whole process of the project construction and elaborated the OceanUniversityOfChina SAN project meets the problem in the actual construction. With the construction and development of Ocean University Of China Digiltal Library, the shortage of storage space caused by the rapid growth of the data resources, the construction of the second storage to data storage flexibility; access, management and backup of amount of data, make the StorageAreaNetwork exist a safe problem, through increasing system redundancy design, using efficient management software and adding backup equipments and using the reasonable backup strategy, we enhance the StorageAreaNetwork security; In order to improve the existing structure of the StorageAreaNetwork, offered a NetworkAttachedStorage (NAS) and StorageAreaNetwork(SAN) storage architecture of integration to meet the OceanUniversityOfChina Digital Library future development needs.
