With the development of computer simulation technology, simulation technology has been applied more and more widely to the industry and the research of defense. The development of computer science and computer graphic brings the virtual reality technology, which could present real environment and express the simulation process objectively by special equipment, providing a visual and vivid simulation analysis means. Therefore, the virtual reality technology extricates scientists and engineers from the boring experimentation and data processing thoroughly. As an application of virtual reality in simulation, the visualization technology of Power field of missile attacking typical targets encounter becomes an effective assist technology in the development of weapons.The study in this paper is based on F-16 fighter plane. A simulation system for missile attacking typical targets is developed, and some important aspects in the system are studied.Firstly, the evolution of simulation and virtual reality technology is introduced, the background of simulation system is discussed in detail, and the structure of simulation system is designed as well.Secondly, the object of system is analyzed, the method and process of three-dimensional physical model is studied, and the three-dimensional physical model and the motion model are set up.At last, the virtual scene integrating and driving technique is researched, and an application definition file is created. Two important elements, fragments and shock wave of the Power field of weapons, are focused on. The simulation adopts the particle system to realize the visualization of the flying fragments, and adopts the color-index to express the character of the shock wave. By studying 3D fragment distribution and the flying character of the fragments, the thesis achieves the visualization effect of fragments (including the static status and the dynamic status), the effect of shock- wave (including the brick effects and the frame effects) and a demo for the missile/target encounter.By using VC++ and Window XP as developing platform, selecting Multigen Creator as the modeling tool of the entity and scene, adopting Vega scene simulation software as the simulation engine, the research realizes the visualization simulation for the encounter of missile/target at various poses. The research results can provide the technical support for weapon development.
