Real-time spectrum detection is a technology which is widely used in chemical analysis, environmental monitoring and production process supervisory control. In order to obtain spectral information of the target spectrum in real-time,the high-speed spectrum detection instrument is indispensable. At present, static Fourier Transform spectrometer has a broad application in real-time spectrum detection, because of its high efficiency and strong interference immunity.By comparing the existing digital signal processing methods in Fourier Spectrometer,a method realization of Fast Fourier Transform based on FPGA is put forward to further enhance the operating speed of the spectrum instruments and achieve more rapid detection of the target spectrum. At first,we introduce the development situation of spectrum detection technology and spectrum detection instruments, and point out the technical advantages of the static Fourier spectrometer in real-time spectrum detection. Then we compare several Fast Fourier Transform implementation methods. On the basis of the comparison, the realization method of Fast Fourier Transform based on FPGA is determined, and a simple description about the FPGA developments, the basic structure and working principle, the design process are provided.Secondly, the algorithms and characteristics of the commonly used Fast Fourier Transform arithmetic are introduced in this study, and radix-2 FFT was selected finally. The structure and work flow of the FFT processor are designed based on the detailed analysis of the algorithm. Then the methods and steps to achieve the functional modules were given. The last part of the dissertation verified the correctness of the FFT processor function through two experiments, and analyzed the computing error of the processor based on the experimental results.
