With the coming of the information age,the society need of new innovative talents is on the rise.Under such circumstances,inquiry study is drawing increasingly more attention from educators as one of the effective education methods to develop innovative talents.At the same time,the rapid development of network,Internet and the increasing popularity and rich diversity of online education resources create a more effective environmental support for web-based inquiry study which in turn has gradually become a viable new approach to learn.At present,web-based inquiry study still has many urgent problems that need to be solved:(1) effective and diverse ways to obtain information;(2) adequate time and space for communication and cooperation;(3) scientific and effective management and evaluation tools;(4) convenient ways for results publishing.The author read a lot of files about Electronic portfolio evaluation at home and abroad and gets the conclusion that electronic portfolios can be a very good way to meet the demand of web-based inquiry study.Electronic portfolios is a collection of learning materials including the learners' information technology usage performance and development in information technology environment,students' learning objectives, learning activities,learning outcomes,learning performance,learning payment,and reflection of learning progress and results.Completed electronic portfolios have the following advantages:(1) students as the main body;(2) process-based evaluation;(3) digital storage;(4) accessibility.These characteristics can basically meet the needs of web-based inquiry study which learning process is longer,results are plenty and various, and a lot of participants and provide a powerful tool for recording and evaluation.Inquiry study electronic portfolios can support the management of inquiry study learning process which will make the electronic portfolios only a tool for evaluating but also a part of the learning process.The development of inquiry study electronics portfolios will be unique and irreplaceable.In this paper,firstly the author researches on the network environment and analysis the learning process of inquiry study,then get the general form of learning activities of all stages in web-based inquiry study as well as the type of results.Second,the author extracts the content model from the research of study process.On the basis of above inquiry,the author uses object-oriented software design methods to analysis and modeling system,including needs analysis,static modeling,dynamic modeling,and finally completes the system at the technical level and test the stability and practicality of it.This paper will provide process management tools for web-based inquiry study, support platform for collaborative learning,and ultimately hope to provide support for lifelong learning.This paper will be of important reference value to the development of more effective web platform for web-based inquiry study and tools for lifelong learning.
