Publication is an important carrier by which human cultural and ideological progress can be extended and inherited from generation to generation. Publication is aggregate of social information and with corresponding information value. The process of publication transmission is: the information of works is made into publications, then to circulate from disseminator to receiver.From the perspective of information theory, there are 3 aspects of the values of publications: Content value, Application value and medium role. Content value involves the inheritance of the core of publications——Spiritual Civilization. Application value means circulations and exchanges of publications and social information. Medium role is about the development of medium form of publications and replication technology. The accomplishment of these values relies on transmission of information which covers production, circulation and application of publications. Publications have information value for their information characteristic.Publications are the main access of information. Publications are the works which not only spirit content printed on but also spread to the public. Publications are medium of social information and indispensable of certain medium form. The circulations of information complete through large-scale production and wide spread.Information exchanges help to get more consensus and knowledge Innovation. Economic benefits of publications can be reflected in sales to publishing house, which helps comprehensive management of operating conditions.
