With the development and cross-application of technologies on the fields of micro-electronics, power-electronics, control, computer, communication and embedded, the general development trend of the Motion Control System is digital,networking,integrated and intelligent. Many forward-looking research works are under way.Relying on a pre-research project, a scheme of implement of Two-Hot Backup of Motion Control System is put forward, which is composed of Compact PCI Embedded PC and Motion Control device. The VxWorks RTOS adopted in the Embedded PC , which is used as centrum for information exchanging,data processing and platform for Human-Computer interaction, can achieve the function of communicating with the Center Computer by real-time network,complex motion track computing,encryption algorithms,monitor function etc. The 6U structure that is followed by Europe standard and the 32 CompactPCI Bus are adopted in the Motion Control Card, which uses TMS320LF2812 as the core digital signal processor. It not only completes the following control, but also designs many I/O and pulse interfaces to exchange the information with the peripheral devices.The program is essentially built on a set of VxWorks embedded operating system, which is a software-based, strong real-time and certainty of the open movement control platform. The main content includes: making use of the multimedia component– WindML in VxWorks RTOS to design the display console based on the general development of the graphical control gLib; In order to solve the Ethernet's uncertain,non-reliability problems in data transmission, the realization of the storage exchanging mechanism, dual redundant switching technology and the Ethernet communication mechanism ,which is based on double buffer queue, are put forward. Through analysis of the PCI's architectures and features, the development process of the driver of PCI device, which is available for the PLX9054 Chip, is elaborated. The scheme of the project has been verified in the actual design, whose results are significant.
