Tracking and locating miners in underground tunnels is one of the most effective methods preventing and eliminating potential underground safety hazard.Tracking and locating objects is one of the most important development trends of RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) technology and has been applied to some applications successfully.Due to characteristics of anti-disturbance,durability,little environmental impact and so forth,RFID technology is suitable for tracking and locating miners in underground tunnels very much.The core of tracking and locating system in underground tunnels is the tracking and locating algorithm. Nowadays,tracking and locating algorithm has strong dependence on hardware used to track and locate,which have an negative effect on flexibility and availability.Moreover,a great deal of information including redundant,duplicate and invalid data will be produced during the process of data collection.Therefore,how to process data efficiently is important for the flexibility and availability of system.Complex event processing is the new technology that extracts,analyzes and process data produced by message-based distributed system and is used to construct the event-based system. Because of the diversity of different event-based system in different fields,it is necessary to construct specific application model system based on complex event processing technology according to the requirement of specific field.On the background,in this paper we design and implement the time-shifting tracking and locating algorithm which is independent of hardware.Time-shifting tracking and locating algorithm has strong universality.The purpose of tracking and locating objects can be achieved as long as the information of objects' positions could be collected in real time regardless of the types of hardware platforms.Furthermore,we construct the CEP-based tracking and locating model system - BCEPS model system in light of the characteristic of tracking and locating system in underground tunnels.BCEPS model system classifies the events produced by tracking and locating system into two categories:RFID event and user event.We also design the complex event processing language model.In order to enhance the real-time of system,we design and implement real time event scheduling algorithm based on priority and timestamp and apply the algorithm into BCEPS model system.Finally,we implement the RFID-using tracking and locating prototype system in underground mine which adopts BCEPS model system.In this paper,we achieve the purpose of tracking and locating miners in underground tunnels and demonstrate the BCEPS model system.Finally,we point out the future research in order to make the progress in tracking and locating system in underground tunnels and BCEPS model system.
