Cihai ,as an encyclopedia for reference in modern publishing history of China,ranging from first edition of 1936 to the fourth edition of 1999, has a history of more than seventy years. Through comparing and analysing of different editions of Cihai, from perspective of publication,the dissertation makes a study on its frame and makes a review about its editting history and makes a study on its editting systerm ,brand-creating and the model for market and sales. The dissertation also makes a summary about the significance and deficiency of publication of Cihai.The thesis is divided into four parts:Firstly: research review. This part goes over former articles studying Cihai according to period of research and perspective of research.Secondly:publishing history of Cihai. In the section,the thesis concludes the experience of different editions in terms of time clue.Thirdly: whole frame analysis. From all editions'perspective of Cihai,this part discusses its publishing policy> brand- creating and marketing policy.Finally: the significance of publishing Cihai and some concening problems. On one hand,this part points out the role that Cihai plays in leading the moral constuction and ruling construction of publication ;on the other hand ,this part makes an analysis of the deficiency of publication of Cihai and makes a personnal interpretation about its feformation and exploration...
