With the development of the embedded technology, digital video processing, image processing and network technology, video monitor system has developed rapidly. In particular, in response to the different scenes, there are more and more solutions. So in this thesis, the design and realization of an embedded video monitor system based on SuperH architecture embedded processor and special video image processing chip are illustrated. Moreover, in response to the serious problem of the low image quality during the capture process, this thesis provides a series of video image processing algorithms.Firstly, the improvement and development of the video monitor system and video image processing technology itself are introduced. Through the comparison on the many solutions and the careful collection of the system architecture,the video monitor realization solution based on the SuperH processor and special image processing chip is provided.Secondly, because the low quality image problem is widespread in the video monitor system, a series of process algorithms are provided. And the wide dynamic range and shading algorithm plays a key role in the improvement. At the same time, the paper verifies the special image process algorithm. The results show they are correct and effective.Thirdly, according to the high performance and high speed in the video image processing, this paper illustrates the system hardware, which is mainly composed of the SH7727 processor and AG902 high performance image processing chip. Also, this thesis provides the video monitor software. And the software is composed of the upper application program and the device driver program, realizes the whole processing tasks of the video monitor system. On the one hand the upper application program realizes all of the tasks, and transfers the data between the image processing chip and other hardware devices, on the other hand, the device driver program encapsulates the related manipulation of the hardware device, provides to upper application program. At the same time, the network part provides comprehensive network function, which is composed of the Lighttpd web server and FTP server.Lastly, the whole debug processes and running results are illustrated. The results demonstrate the solution in this thesis is reasonable and correct.During the illustration the figures and tables are used to make the solution, hardware architecture and software structure much clearer. Particularly when illustrating and verifying the video image processing algorithm, the figures of different scenes are used to make the algorithm clearer.
