Because of its compactness and excellent performance, microring resonator has become an important device unit in integrated optics. Due to its wavelength selectivity, it has great potentials in dispersion compensation, all optical buffer, and so on. In this thesis the transmission characteristics difference between single-ring resonance filter and single-ring resonator is analyzed based on the coupling resonance equation. Considering the existence of loss, coupled resonator induced transparency of the transmission and the mode splitting in inner intensity magnification factor of serially cascaded microring resonators are analyzed. The effect of various parameters of the two serially coupled resonators on its transmission and inner intensity magnification factor is discussed, and the group delay of the serially cascaded microring resonators is evaluated by the quality factor. Transmission characteristics of dual-ring resonator based on a collinear 3x3 coupler is discussed in this thesis. The coupled resonator induced transparency of this kind of resonator is simulated. And the dependence of the effective phase shift and group delay of the output light on the perimeter difference of the two rings is analyzed. Work in this thesis can help to understand the working mechanics of the serially cascaded microring resonators and the dual-ring resonators based on collinear 3x3 couplers, and may offer a theoretic analysis basic for their practical applications.
