The thesis takes lao nian fu Channel of Shanxi TV station as the research object, which is the only paid digital TV channel for the national old people. To begin with, through analyzing the social background of the Channel development which includes the aging of Chinese society, channel specialization, the characteristics of old-age audience, television digital technology development trend, the study considers that the channel is result of common action of China's population structure, needs of old persons, the television industry's own development and scientific and technological progress.The Second part of the thesis summarizes the course of development of lao nian fu channel, using principles of Journalism and Communication, the third part of the thesis analyses program arrangement and content of lao nian fu Channel of Shanxi TV station and Points out characteristics and defects of program arrangement of the channel. Simultaneously, the study makes case analysis of the core section of the Channel"health book", then, the article approaches the operation and the dissemination results of the Channel. The analysis of the dissemination results of channel is mainly the collation and analysis of relevant data, based on the audience survey. Views to the time problem of the programming and the introduction of the comfort function to the television programs for old people are the innovations of the thesis.The fifth part of the thesis mainly analyses the bottlenecks that restrict the development of lao nian fu Channel from the internal and external factors that comprises the popularization process of digital TV, the habit of free watching television, lack of funds, and lack of professional personnel. The sixth part of the thesis puts forward the measures of the development of lao nian fu Channel: Improving the quantity and quality of self-management programs is to enhance the targeted property and professionalism. Culturing the star show hosts whose age is close to the old is to enhance the attractiveness force of the Channel. Cross-media promotion and grass-roots level propaganda is to expand the impact of channel and make the Channel go deep into the lives of the old people. The exploitation of industries related to the old is to provide funds for lao nian fu channel, which makes up for the defect the Channel can not operate advertisement. Using foreign advanced experience of professional media for the old people for reference is to make the channel better serve the old people of our country. The concluding part of the thesis raises the view to the missing situation of news of television programs for old people at present.
