Research On The RCS Simulation Of Chaff Cloud

This thesis mainly studies on the method of calculating the RCS(Radar Cross Section) of chaff cloud. Based on the RCS calculation method of a single chaff, using vector transport theory, a computer simulation on the RCS calculation of chaff cloud is conducted.And the RCS simulation and calculation of chaff cloud software package is developed based on semi-analytical method. In this dissertation, the work can be roughly divided into the following three parts.First of all, the RCS calculation method of single chaff is mainly discussed. Form the description of the scattering filed of chaff cloud, the scattering formula in any incident and scattering direction and under any orientation of the chaff can be exported, and so is the spatial distribution of scattering intensity in any polarization state. Finally the relationship graph between the relative length and the RCS of single chaff is got.Secondly, the usage of vector transport theory in the RCS calculation of chaff cloud is studied. In accordance with the actual physical model, the VRT(Vector Radiation Transport) equation which can describe the electromagnetic wave travel in the chaff cloud is discussed. From the theory of energy transferring and contact with Markov process, comes to that VRT equation can be solved by Monte Carlo numerical method. Then the computer simulation process is discussed in detail and the corresponding simulation results are obtained.Finally, the RCS simulation of chaff could software package is developed. The algorithms of the software and the way to use it are illustrated in detail. And combined with simulation examples, the flexibility and practicality of the software are indicated. The results and procedures in this thesis have a certain practical value in the pratical application. It can be used as a reference for the variety of chaff cloud computing simulation and also provide numerical reference for the researchers in this field.
