During the 1920s or 1930s, a group of writers translated aesthetic works from Japan and western countries with enthusiasm on their self-publication "Golden house monthly", they also created many decadent and sensual works. The literary secene in Shanghai has rise to the response. But in the 1920s or 1930s in China, national movement was at the summit of its power, the translation of aesthetics on "Golden House Monthly" seemed somewhat behind the time. Reading the publications carefully, we found the copywriters of "Golden House Monthly" had not their own standpoint as translating aesthetic literature. With the mentality of cosmopolitism literature, they embraced western and Japanese aestheticism without any principle and criticism.Most of the copywriters of "Golden House Monthly" had the oversea studying experience. The acceptance and understanding to aestheticism would affect the introduction of external literature. At the same time, this passion and choice to aestheticism was also associated with political and economic environment in Shanghai during the 1920s or 1930s. The political proletarture's oppression and pursuit to individual value urged them to tend to choose the aesthetics with the same counter-utilitarianism color. The slogan, "art for art", indeed had brought enthusiasm and power to them, but all these became absurd and superficial in the special semi-colonial environment in Shanghai. These copywriters of "Golden House Monthly" had been controlled by the consumer culture invisibly in Shanghai. The modern life which caused them to lose the manner to external culture and standpoint of translation thoroughly stimulated and torpored their nerveThis thesis is emphasized on the translation of "Golden House Monthly" and unscrambling the translation to aestheticism from external culture in 1920s Or 1930s in China and also their manner and standpoint in the process of translation. However, the formation of the standpoint also manifest the alliance relationship between literature and political economy. Specifically speaking, this thesis introduces the formation of "Golden House Monthly" first, then unfolds the aesthetic appearance of translation to "Golden House Monthly", unscrambles the standpoint from the political and economic point of view finally.
