With the fast development of the telecommunications in our country, telecommunications sector has set up more and more telecommunication machine rooms unattended. As the number of telecommunication machine rooms is large and the distribution of them is wide, the maintenance work is very difficult. As the specificity of patrol work, it is difficult to master the condition of it. So it is necessary to establish power and environment monitoring and patrol management system on telecommunication machine rooms. The system can remotely monitor the power and environment of telecommunication machine rooms centrally and supervise patrol work, making a transition from the maintenance and management of passive guards to the control and management of computer models.Power and environment monitoring and patrol management system has three parts, including monitoring center, transmission channel and monitoring unit. Communication front-end processor of monitoring unit is responsible for receiving the information of different acquisition units and completing the task of data pre-processing and transmission. It plays the role of connecting in the system. It is an important part of system.Because China Tietong Sichuan Province branch needs the power and environment monitoring and patrol management system on telecommunication machine rooms which are long-term unattended and the transmission channel is under the condition of a mixed network which includes internet and intranet, the goal of this paper is to do research on the reliability and security technologies of communication front-end processor and realize it in the prototype system.The work of this paper is as follows.1,Aiming at functional requirement of communication front-end processor in the system, this paper analyzed and designed the real functional modules, realized them in the linux operation system by using Socket,multithread,V4L,serial programming techniques and so on.2,Aiming at the long-term unattended condition of telecommunication machine rooms, this paper analyzed all kinds of interference factor which external environment and system are likely to produce, put forward and realized a full set of self-detect and self-recovery mechanisms. 3,Aiming at virus attack, buffer overflow attack and other attack for the transmission channel being under the condition of a mixed network which includes internet and intranet, this paper used linux packet filtering technology, firewall technology, intrusion detection technology to design and implement security framework of communication front-end processor.The system has completed the simulation testing. It has desired effect on functions, security and reliability. The system has been in the field testing stage, the current result is good.
