In modern society, with the rapid development of technology and economy, Identification technology is appreciated by people. Traditional identification techniques, especially password, can not adapt to the identification requirements of modern society, because of poor security. In order to overcome the shortcomings of traditional identification technology, the body's biological characteristics have been proposed for identification, such as: fingerprint, iris, voice.Iris recognition technology is becoming a research focus of biometric identification technology field, because of high dependability. Iris recognition technology refers to current math, signal process, pattern recognition, Image process and so on. In this paper, some key issues of iris recognition technology and its application in colliery attendance system is researched mostly.First, in the basis of iris recognition system experimental model, hardware structure of the iris recognition colliery attendance system has been built, components structure of the iris image acquisition devices and data-processing computer has been described. For in problems of the original system model, the auto-focusing iris image acquisition system has been designed, and focusing module in auto-focusing image acquisition system has been analysis mostly, the smallest system that is based on AT89C82 single-chip and peripherals circuits, communications interface circuits, optoelectronic isolation circuit and motor drive gear has been described.Second, a variety of image sharpness evaluation algorithm have been studied, and some of them applied to the iris image sharpness assessment, algorithm that is based on contrast have been studied mostly, for Sharpness evaluation algorithm that is based on contrast, search focusing methods have been studied; Advantages and disadvantages of various methods have been compared.Finally, in the basis of iris recognition technology, iris recognition colliery attendance system has been achieved, making iris recognition technology has a application opportunity to experiment in the actual occasions. System includes various functions that are required by attendance of the conventional unit, and includes many unique calculation statistical functions by colliery. Iris recognition colliery attendance system provides a relatively good reference for iris recognition technology applications in various fields in the future.
