The Power Load Management system is the collection of modern digital communication technology, computer hardware and software technology, energy metering technology and electricity marketing techniques into a comprehensive information collection and analysis of real-time processing system.And it is designed for the Demand-side management.Its main function is to manage clients'load, the establishment of the normal order for electricity to ensure power balance and grid security, improving the load factor of grid and users , and increasing the utilization of electrical equipment.The central station, communication channel and the load management terminal are the three parts of the system. And the communication likes a bridge to contact management center and load management terminals, which plays a major role in Power Load Management system.In this paper, after analyzing and comparing the communication channels which are used by the the current power load management system and combined with the rapid development of communication technology ,we put forward the load management system based on GPRS / CDMA wireless channel, which is using GPRS / CDMA module's data transmission and Internet access function to realize the two-way data transfer between load management terminal and the central station.GPRS / CDMA network can provide communication means which is reliable, convenient to expand, and easy to maintain for power automation systems, and this power load management system which is based on the wireless communication has many advantages such as no wiring work and reducing network construction costs, saving significant maintenance cost, shortening construction engineering periods, strong scalability, high reliability and fast transmission rate, real-time and so on.The thesis fully affirmed this wireless communications technology in automation of power system feasibility and broadening application prospects through analyzing and studying the GPRS / CDMA structure and characteristics.The thesis focused on analyzing and researching the choice of Network scheme and internet access options of GPRS / CDMA wireless communications technology which applied in the power load management;and put forward a way which Combined the GPRS / CDMA and Virtual Private Network (VPN) technology to Constructe the Network,and select the way of MCU + GPRS / CDMA module which is embedded TCP / IP protocol stack to access the internet. The article also researched the security issues of the GPRS / CDMA network ,and proposed several well-established network security measures for load management system.At last,the paper used the GPRS module MC55 and CDMA module DTL-800 as examples,introduced the application of GPRS and CDMA wireless communication technology respectively in the power load management system designs which include the wireless communication module and load management terminal interface hardware design, hardware anti-interference measures, prevent the wireless link dropped to maintain the link real-time online,wireless software design for data transmission and the using of SMS function to modify the design parameters of the load terminals.
