With more and more families using cars, the cases that car was stolen are on the rise. According to statistics, the number of cars stolen each year is on as many as 10 million in the global. How to effectively prevent car to be stolen has become a worldwide topic. AT the same time, there are some problems in the existing kinds of auto-guard devices. The mechanical auto-guard device is cheap, but it cannot give an alarm. The electronic auto-guard device with voice alarm and remote control, but it is easy to false alarm. The auto-guard based on chip device is easy to use, but the car's key could be stolen and the password could be cracked. The network alarm actives all-round service, but expensive and the system is vulnerable. The auto-guard device based on fingerprint using the coincidence rate of less than one-six-billionth of the human fingerprint as the only password to start the car is not only effective auto-guard but also to resolve the conflicts of others by car. Even if the car's key was stolen, but did not pass the fingerprint verification, still unable to start the engine; only to be allowed user can start the car by means of user's fingerprint. Therefore, the research and development of auto-guard system based on fingerprint has obvious practical value and significance.This dissertation is about the research of auto-guard system based on fingerprint identification, and combined with features of auto-guard to implement part of the hardware and software function of the system. This dissertation consists of four parts .The first part states the whole design about auto-guard system based on fingerprint identification. The design of DSP processing system is given in the second part. In this part, it makes use of TI's TMS320VC5416 chip as the processor to complete algorithm of fingerprint, and achieved the basic circuit design of DSP and the design of the communication interface between DSP and Single-chip. The design of USB communication interface is introduced in the third part, by use of the Philips's PDIUSBD12 as USB interface bus control chip to realize the design of the USB interface's hardware and firmware programming. The fourth part presents the design of automotive control module, and making use of the Philips's P89C58-based single-chip and Shenzhen-Golden's GH-1C-12L Relay as the main controller to realize of the auto-guard control functions. At the end of this paper, the problems occurred in this system was descript, several approaches to overcome them were brought forward, and the direction of more research was pointed out.
