A Study On Fuzzy Control Method For Urban Traffic Signal

After analyzing the researches of the city-traffic signal control,the grade crossings control theory and its method of evaluation,the paper designs a traffic signal two-stage fuzzy controller for single intersection using the fuzzy tool box in the Matlab.Analyzing the controlling result of the two-stage fuzzy controller designed before in different situation of traffic flow,the paper gets the conclusion that the fuzzy controller is not suitable to all kinds of traffic flows and there is a using confine.After using the controller to manage the traffic flow which is suitable for fuzzy control.,the essay compares the result from fuzzy control and that from vehicle actuated control. This paper also analyzes the influences on control result of fuzzy membership functions and rules.,combines different fuzzy membership functions and rules to form new controller,comparing the result controller before being adjusted and the latter,on the one hand avoiding using complex algorithm to modify its fuzzy memberships and rules, on the other hand,receiving a better controlling result.
