Wind energy is important to solve the global energy and environment problems, and wind power generation system has become a research focus of scholars around the world. Because it needs a great budget and takes long time to do field experiment of wind power generation system in wind farm, it is very necessary to construct an experimental platform of wind turbine simulator to facilitate the research on the wind power generation system in laboratory, and promote the research and development of wind power generation system.In this thesis, DC machine is chosen to simulate wind turbine, and the rotation speed- torque characteristics of wind turbine is simulated by controlling torque of DC machine. MATLAB models of wind turbine are established, and its simulation is carried out. The hardware of wind turbine simulator is built up by using SIMOREG DC Master, single chip processor and so on, while the control software corresponding to the hardware is also worked out, so that the simulator can be used to simulate wind turbine. The agreement among the experimental data, simulating data and theoretical analysis manifests that the simulating scheme of wind turbine is feasible and correct, and it will lay a good foundation for the further research of wind power generation system.Following are some major aspacts included in the thesis:⑴A comprehensive summary of current situation of domestic and foreign wind power generation is made from several aspects such as the installed capacity, development situation as well as technical characteristics. The mechanical characteristics and the safe working areas of the wind turbine are analyzed carefully. The simulating scheme of the wind turbine is worked out by contrasting various schemes of wind turbine simulation.⑵The simulation models of wind turbine simulator are built up in MATLAB, and its simulation study is carried out comprehensively. It is proved that the mechanical characteristics of wind turbine simulator matches very well with the actual wind turbine, and that the voltage feedforward compensation and the field compensation have good performance in eliminating disturbance induced by voltage drop of power supply. ⑶The hardware of wind turbine simulator is analyzed and designed carefully. After the general ideal of software design for wind simulator is introduced, the flow charts of its main program and subroutines are given, and their corresponding C language codes are programmed. The experimental data, simulation data and theoretical analysis comply with each other very well, i.e., the simulating scheme of wind turbine is feasible and correct.
