With the development of soft switch technology, Shanghai Mobile Company Ltd. has newly built the core network of soft switch. MSS gradually became the main equipments to load communication services. In order to meet the demand of marketing development, as to provide the safe and stable network service to general mobile subscribers, also to reduce the high telephone traffic which will influence the stability of network, to avoid Artificial fault, Equipment failure, Natural disaster which will cause network breakdown with long time or big area, Shanghai Mobile Company Ltd. should build a redundancy system of soft switch as soon as possible.First, I introduce the topic background and the development of soft switch, proposed the demand of building an effective core network redundancy system.Secondly, I study the redundancy theory and the mobile communication technology system. I analyzed basic mentality and clue of core network redundancy in detail from two angles: the reliable theory and the technical implementation. Through many contrasts, I found N+1 redundancy technology is suitable to put in practice in the network.Then, I introduce the key technology of N+1 redundancy from several aspects. Based on the N+1 redundancy technology, I propose the application project of Ericsson MSS backup. The project will rich the whole redundancy system of Shanghai Mobile core network.Finally, I summarize the topic research, and I forecast the development of core network redundancy technology in the future.
