High-voltage and high repetition pulse sharpening has a high demand to power switch, but traditional switches are difficult to satisfy the high-gradient pulse.Pulse sharpening and compression can be realized by magnetic switch,which can overcome the restriction of high power switch.One-stage magnetic pulse compressor system is designed based on the new-type topology schematic without re-magnetization circuit.IGBT is chosen as the control switch of the magnetic pulse compressor system and its driving circuit and protection circuit are designed based on the integrated driver EXB841 and RS trigger respectively.Iron-based nano crystal alloy and ferrite are chosen as the cores of saturable pulsed transformer and magnetic switch respectively according to the volt-time equation.The wingding number of the cores is calculated.The working process of saturable pulsed transformer and magnetic switch is deeply studied and derived according to mathematical deduction.Equivalent loop circuit equation is listed out and voltage and current of the loop circuit is obtained by Laplace transform and its inverse transform.Conditions must be satisfied if the system works normally and two methods are put forward.The primary winding wire diameter of the saturable pulsed transformer is designed considering the effective current flowing through the primary winding.The magnetic pulse compressor system is simulated based on Pspice.The analysis and simulation show that subtle changes of element parameters variations seriously distorted the out-pulse.And it is necessary to enhance to stability of the element parameters.The above research work provided theoretic and technical support for the design of magnetic pulse compressor system.With the initial voltageof-250V,the peak of discharge voltag and rising front width of pulse can reach about -5.5kV and 100ns across a 20Ωresistance load.The saturation time of saturable pulsed transformer and magnetic switch are 47μs and 1.4μs.The experimental and simulation results show that magnetic pulse compressor system satisfy the expected index.
