In the time of the highly competitive TV industry, the television media must insist to carry out TV brand strategy so as to win in the intense market competition. And the TV column is the basic unit of building the TV brand. Because of this, it has the vital significance of the current times to study the TV column from this point.Taking the Trading Spaces, a brand column of the economical channel of CCTV, as the research content, using all kinds of methodology such as document method and comparison method, this thesis tries to make a full-scale analysis on the Trading Spaces and seek the communication law that makes it successful in the hope of providing some useful inspiration and reference for the construction of the Chinese TV column.The body of the paper is divided into three parts:The first part: The background of the Trading Spaces emerged. Basing on the society and culture background, the change of the economical channel of CCTV which the Trading Spaces belong to and the developing straits of the life-service program, this part of the thesis tries to analyze the cause of the Trading Spaces emerged. The second part: The analysis of the Trading Spaces column. This part is the focal point of the paper. It analyzes the audience orientation, column idea, character of content, column form, host style, column marketing and communication effects. It shows that the Trading spaces has made great breakthrough compared with other life-service programs and has transferred successfully resource advantage to brand advantage. The Trading Spaces provide very good model for the development and innovation of the Chinese TV column.The third part: The successful inspiration and the developing suggestions of the Trading Spaces. This part concludes two parts. Firstly, the thesis explores some inspiration of the Trading Spaces for the construction of the Chinese TV column. Secondly, the thesis analyzes the exciting problems of the Trading Spaces. Then the thesis proposes several suggestions to its later development and the forecast in the hope of providing some reference to its later development.
