Design And Implementation Of Data Dictionaries In Column Storage DWMS

With the intensification of market competition, social demands for information are growing day by day. So it is more important to make decisions by extracting the needed information from large amounts of data, and it is obvious that traditional database systems no longer meet the needs.With the development of database technology, data warehouse, a decision support system with special data storage technology, has come into being.Data dictionary is an important part of data warehouse environment. It is the basis of normal operation of data warehouse system and it stores all information of data warehouse system.Since there are frequent queries on data dictionary during normal operation, design and implement a data dictionary administrative mechanism to provide fast query is the main object of this paper.The main research work of the author is as following:1,Research and analysis of the principles and the implementation mechanism of the column storage data warehouse management system. Then according to the technical requirements for column storage design the underlying software architecture of data warehouse management system.2,Directed towards the underlying software architecture, further according to the special relationship between column storage and metadata, carry out the logical and physical design of the data dictionary in column storage data warehouse management system.3,Put over an optimal columns-rows conversion engine C2R for data dictionary and implement core algorithm of the columns-rows conversion engine.4,Finally, by using a large number of experiments which are based on the standard data such design is verified efficiently, and meets the high query response requirement of column oriented data warehouse.The results of this research well meet the practical requirements of the column storage data warehouse management system.
