After decades of developing, health periodicals have been in a state of prosperity in our country. Health periodicals' development is the result of social, economic development, while being resulted in by the contradictions between the system of medical services and the people's need of health. Health Sociology offers many stimulating ideas on the understanding of the necessity of the health periodicals' existence. Health periodical gets its own development while meeting people's need of health, but there are still some problems in it. In the editing area ,the main problems are the unclarity of positioning and the deficiency of scientific and cultural factors. To avoid the operational risks and the waste of resources brought by homogenization competition, health periodical needs to define the target audience anew according to its own advantages, to form its own characteristics. To ensure that the content is authentic and cultivated enough, the editor's quality needs to be improved, and it also needs the government's regulation and supervision of the society. In order to improve the editor's capability, it is necessary for the editors themselves to develop the quality of keeping learning and creating. It also requires the relevant departments to pay attention to the training of health communication practitioners.
