Research Of Data Warehouse Oriented On Decision Support System For Design Of Ceramic Kiln

It is known that environmental pollution and energy shortage are most important problems all over the world. In China, the industrial Ceramic Kilns plays an important role in the basic industries and traditional industries.However the issue of high energy consumption and high pollution is an urgent need to solve this important technical problems. A great deal of research work has been done by some enterprises and related research institutes. It shows that traditional research methods merely using simple calculation tools, testing equipment and simple simulation have great limitations.In this thesis a new methods has been gotten by researching the technologies of Data Warehousing(DW) and Data Mining(DM). Decision Support System(DSS), based on DW and DM, helps organizations understand and predict interesting business opportunities over their huge databases. The experiment of the Ceramic Kilns will generate a large amount of data, such as temperature, pressure in the kiln.These data reflect the details of ceramics kiln detailed at runing time.Analyzing these data can extract important information and make a preparation on improving the technology of ceramic kilns. The design and implemtation progess of the system will be presented in the next sections.In this thesis, the solutions for implemtation the DSS for Ceramics Kiln based on DW were discussed both in theory and in practice. The main works include:(1) According to the specific oraginal data of Ceramics Kiln, established the warehouse using the design of conceptual model, logical model and physical model, and then did the research of the key technologies of the data warehouse.(2) Introducing the methods of DM.In this thesis the data platform was built on Oracle 10g. The Oracle Database provides a whole solution for biulding a Decision Support System, including database,data warehouse and dataming. The thesis implemation data mining by Oracle Data Mining API. There have been implemented a packaging layer of the APIs, in order to facilitate the operation of decision makers.(3) Constructing an enterprise solution architecture. It is khown that J2EE is a classic solution of enterprise architecture.In this thesis, using Eclipse 3.0 for development enviroment and using JAVA to program and implent the system architecture.The advantage of Decision Support System is that it can process mass data with high speed at one time. So that it can find more portetial information.Another advantage is that doing experiment by computer is more care for environment.
