Research Of Network Video Surveillance System Based On Embedded Linux

Linux and Embedded System are both hot points in the academic field of computer technology,the combination of them further expands their respective development area.Linux has become the most popular operating system at the field of embedded domain,because of its open source code,simplification of the kernel, supporting multiple hardware platforms,strong network-support and other powerful features.Video Surveillance System is one of its applications.With the rapid development of the electronic technology,multimedia technology and network technology,the development direction of Video Surveillance System is embedded, digital and networked.Embedded Network Video Surveillance System integrates traditional video surveillance technology and modern information technology as a whole,and closely links with current information technology of the world.Its kernel part is a video capture device which can be connected into Ethemet directly and then processes the capturing,compression and transportation of real-time image.This paper summarizes the development process and the research status of video surveillance system around the purpose of completing a network video surveillance system,puts forward a solution of video surveillance system based on embedded Linux,ARM micro-processing technology and other mainstream technology,which is practical and low-cost.In terms of hardware,it uses processor S3C2440 and other peripheral equipment,which are produced by SAMSUNG Company.In terms of software,it sets up the development environment,including the establishment of the cross-compile environment,the design of BootLoader and the transplant of the Embedded Linux and so on.On the embedded Linux platform,it implements the USB camera driver development,and designs video capture program based on Video4Linux API,chooses MPEG-4 video compression algorithm to encode video signal based on Xvid encoder.Finally,it is researched in this paper that MPEG-4 encapsulation and packetisation method at the point of server based on streaming media transmission technology,and implements a RTP/RTCP frame using JRTPLIB to transmit the data packet to the user.
