Research On Grid Resources Management And Scheduling

The concept of grid and related technologies is presented for achieving resources sharing in scientific and technical cooperation mostly.The ultimate goal is to eliminate Islands of Information and Resources by integrating together all kinds of resources which are distributed geographically.At present,the grid technology has been used in fields like commerce,medication,education,military,etc.As a result of the characteristics of grid resources like distributed,shared,self-resembling, dynamic,heterogeneous,autonomous,and management's manifold and so on,the resource management and scheduling has become the focus and hot spots in grid environment.Grid resource management is one of the major services which are provided in order to achieve resource sharing.From the view of providing convenient and efficient service for users,grid resource management is similar to the traditional resource management systems under distributed computing environment and cluster computing environment,and should have three functions at least:job management, task schedule and resource management.Grid resource scheduling technology is one of the grid core technologies.The tasks of resource scheduling is arranging running schedule and strategies,scheduling the tasks in systems dynamically and improving the efficiency of systems based on the type of tasks,the resource required,resources available and the current system load.A well resource scheduling can coordinate and allocate the grid resources efficiently so that the grid can reach its maximum performance.Firstly,famous grid projects and the situations of study about resource management and scheduling at home and abroad are introduced and analyzed in this thesis.Secondly,the architecture of information grid based on OGSA has been designed according to our project requirements,and the Layered Multi-agent Resource Management Model has been present,including the holistic model of management and the architecture of Layered Multi-agent.Thirdly,in consideration of military ranking and authority,different resources are divided into different partitions and the higher level management partitions are formed.Moreover,the grid management system,mainly including the technologies like resource description, service interface,service deployment,job description,job submission,cooperation of the Multi-agents and so on,is realized by using GT4.At last,the scheduling system of grid has been realized by integrating Condor-G and DAGMan on GT4 platform.The availability and correctness of the scheduling system is analyzed according to monitoring the Condor queue.The running results about some grid services which are relevant to our subject show that our resource management and scheduling system is workable and effective.
