In recent years, the high-speed networks develop very fast, which makes it possible to integrate the distributed and heterogeneous computing resources into Grid. Because the resources in Grid are distributed, heterogeneous and dynamic, the resource management of the Gird , especially the task scheduling is still a challenging problem.This thesis first analyzes the characteristics and weakness of the Grid, and then proposes a grid resource management model. The model consists of three parts, resource discovery, resource scheduling, task submitting and monitoring. The scheduler can be summarized as a hierarchical model with global scheduler on top and the local scheduler, using Condor, on the bottom. So it not only can give users a free hand to decide how to schedule in local, but also ensure consistence and administrable in the grid.Then the thesis introduces the design and implementation of all the parts of the resource management. It mainly introduces the global scheduler and resource information collector. The global scheduler, making up of task collector, task scheduler, task dispatcher, information collector and database module, can allocate and manage tasks and resource in an efficient way. The resource information collector takes charge of collecting and analyzing information from local resource in real time. To ensure the security of information, it uses the multi-registration. Meanwhile, as the local resource is managed by Condor, we design a special information provider to collect detailed information for scheduler.At last, with analyzing the characteristics of scheduling and studying...
