With the development of multimedia technology and computer network,the video stream based on Motion JPEG2000 and H.264 have been used widely.First,as the basic concept,motion JPEG2000 coding standard is introduced in this paper based on the key technique of the motion JPEG2000 standard,and the Motion JPEG2000 ROI(region of interest) encoding technology is utilized in surveillance system of the unattended substation.Experiment results show that the proposed method is feasible in terms of image quality and compression ratio,narrow bandwidth and real-time transmission of images.Then,based on the H.264 encoding standard and its' compression coding feature: a video encryption approach making full use of the video data stream structure is presented.The proposed approach utilizes stream ciphers to encrypt selective data.The results show that it meets the desired application requirements as it provides high speed encryption,size preservation,and format compliancy.
