With Development of Streaming media technology and Internet technology for distance education, it can provide an interactive video classroom and massive resources. However, the consumption resources of this way if is very enormous, if we put the teaching resources on the storage and focus on access, resources, memory and network server applications will become the bottleneck.P2P streaming media technology base on P2P network architecture, the application of real-time transport protocol RTP, take edge way to download while playing to achieve peer-to-peer audio and video broadcast network video technology. The distribution of audio and video tasks from the network each node sharing, the network each node can be the recipient of the media data, but also can be a provider. It can solve the problem of overloading the media server in C/S structure, and it is widely available. P2p-based streaming media technology, IPTV, video conferencing, distance learning, telemedicine and so on it have been more and more people been familiar with and accept.In this paper, we deeply study of P2P streaming media technology and the characteristics of distance learning system, and we can provide a new solution that based on a P2P streaming media technology, it based on a P2P streaming media technology. In this program, we make teachers to the media source node, and make multicast tree structure to teaching video transmission. We want to maintain multicast tree dynamic equilibrium, so in the teacher node, we set up a scheduling module to manage all nodes. In node selection strategy, we take a mechanism that keep System robustness and network load balancing, the action-oriented system, robustness, and network load balancing of the Round-Robin node selection mechanism, according to the node to determine the performance of multicast tree in position. We accord to the performance of nodes, and then allocate multicast tree nodes in position.This paper introduces the subject of the using of P2P streaming media technologies firstly, including P2P network model; streaming media transport protocol, node joining and exiting mechanism, P2P technologies such as load balancing system. And then we give a P2P streaming media platform for distance education solution. Finally, we test the platform and give some results and conclusion. From testing results, we can see that the solution is feasible, the node management mechanism can be adaptive to maintain a balanced tree structure, and it can ensure the stability of video quality.
