The development of digital TV has been going rapidly these years. Lots of countries have planned to close the R&D on analog televisions by the year of 2015, which means the grand opening of of the digital era. The digital television can be divided into three parts: satellite DTV, cable DTV, and territorial DTV. Especially, because of the limit of resource bandwidth and other disadvantaged factors, all countries are paying more attention to the territorial DTV broadcasting standards and its intellectual properties. China has begun to implement its own territorial digital television standards which named DMB-TH since August in 2007. Because of huge and complicated terrain in China, most of cable television consumers are located in busy cities. Territorial digital television can help to solve the problem of digital TV reception in areas which can't be covered with cables. Meanwhile, territorial digital television can provide unprecedented mobile TV service to downtown people, which means people can watch TV anytime and anywhere. Therefore, the portable product based on DMB-TH standards is becoming hot spot in the field of digital TV technology and relevant industry, and a great market potential is anticipated.This paper describes a DMB-TH mobile DTV reception system, which can be used in the laptops, PCs and any other equipments that have USB interface. The system is composed of a THOMSON tuner with low power consumption, a LGS DMB-TH dedicated channel demodulator with high reliability, a FPGA with strong function and a Cypress USB controller with high performance cost ratio, which aims for TS receiving and transporting in real time. The key points of this paper contain the logical designing of high speed transport link, the principles of USB data transport, the firmware designed using Keil C language, and the application designed based on VC++ platform. Meanwhile, this paper introduces the core technology of DMB-TH as well as its performance improvements. The dissertation also describes the software structure and the principles of the USB at the system level, and it provides simulation figures and the analysis on the data received. Finally, we put forward the next stage work suggestions for the deficiency of this device.
