Large scale measurement is becoming more and more important in industial measurement during modern times. In this thesis, a mutli-task real-time and highly accurate metrology system used in workspace is introduced, which is called wMPS(workspace Measurement Position System).This theis studied two plans of creating constant-speed DC motor controller to make sure the transmitter scanner of wMPS works well. They are PID algorithm controll method and PLL motor contorll method.PID controller realized the constant-speed scanner by embedding the PID algorithm in the single-chip PIC18f248. The measured speed data is sent to Matlab by serial communication, which not only helps the PID tuning, but also helpful to the following measuring steps.PLL controller is accomplished by using a hybrid IC STK6217 which is a DC motor driver with constant-speed Digital Servo Controller. It uses a PLL circuit for precise motor control to make sure the scanner is runing at a certain speed. In sum, the two designs are convenience and reliable. They both provide a certain precision that satisfy the wMPS metrology system.
