How to detect the structure of the wind field has always been one of the important scientific research. At the same time, people's lives are deeply affected by wind, such as severely affect aircraft flight safety. Doppler weather radar and conventional weather radar in comparison, the main advantage is that the first one could provide the wind vector information about echo, so Doppler weather radar is one of the most powerful tools for studying disastrous weather and forecasting ultra-short-term weather. At the same time, it is also an important means for studying atmospheric boundary layer. Doppler radar information on the application of one of the key lies in the development of wind retrieval technology. But a main limitation of Doppler radar is that it only measures the radial component of the wind vector. So Doppler radar detected the radial wind information must be available through mathematical means in order to get two-dimensional or three-dimensional wind field.This paper introduces the wind field retrieval techniques based on the single Doppler radar, summarizes the many years of Doppler radar wind retrieval technology research and development at home and abroad, discusses the system of Doppler weather radar, as well as its working principle, introduces a few of the retrieval algorithms. In this paper, two types of ideal model of wind are simulated, and used several ways to verify the algorithm, compared and analyzed. The results shows that using different methods for different wind filed, can get different the effect of retrieval.
