Photoelectric tracking and aiming system is more and more widely used in space laser communication, laser weapon and many other fields. But acquiring, tracking and pointing targets at high-speed and high-precision, is the elementary assurance that the photoelectric tracking and aiming system could be widely used. In this paper, target-capturing algorithms are researched in the photoelectric tracking and aiming system.First of all, the construction of photoelectric tracking and aiming system is introduced, and its controlling software and ways to use are described in this paper. Then, a manually controlling software is designed based on VC++ to realize the aim capturing by controlling the rotation angle of each electric motor. After that, algorithms to realize target-capturing are researched, among which a zigzag target-capturing algorithm and a Archimedean spiral target-capturing algorithm are proposed. Finally, its target loss situation of the two algorithms is analyzed, the zigzag target-capturing algorithm is validated in experimental devices using composer software and the manually controlling software and PVT simulation is executed using matlab software of the Archimedean spiral target-capturing algorithm.
