With its direction to decentralization, network and intelligence, field bus control system (FCS) has been applied more and more widely to the industrial control field.Based on CAN field bus, the paper studied its applied principle and realizable method to the pulp consistency, multi-dryer steam temperature test and control, aim at improving test and control performance in the industrial field. The system adopted digital network communication model to increase reliability and time-reality of data communication.At first, the paper analyzed the performance features of CAN bus and pact model, then compared with traditional DCS control system, introduced the significance of using FCS in the paper making process, discussed FCS design plan and functional features, expound the hardware constructions of each main part in system as well as some anti-interference problems in hardware design; elaborated the block diagram of system software part; focused on the features of the paper making process, put forward parameters self-set PID algorithm. At the last part of the paper, it expounded the method and procedure of system trial-run and experimental analysis on the system network communi- cation, pulp consistency and multi-dryer steam temperature test-control performances, besides, with the help of MATLAB simulator software, simulated analysis on the parameters fuzzy self-set PID control algorithm used in pulp consistency control. The experimental data and simulated results show that the designed test-control system used in paper making process with following features: performance stable, reliable working with high precision and good flexibility, low cost and easy to maintain.
