Research On Evaluating Information Architecture Of C2C Electronic Commerce WebSite

As the quickly development and widely application of the computer technology and the internet technology, the amount of information increases very enormous. Today, our problem in face of information is not lack of information, but how to quickly find our needed informtion in so much information. Under this kind of social backgroud, information architecture is paid much attention by lots of researchers and scholars.Recently years, C2C electronic commerce develops quickly in China, the kind of commodity to sell is great various, the number of people to join in trade grows more and more. However, all trade is completed through the website, and all the trade information is presented on the website. The information content of the C2C website is so huge. How to communicate flunently in the huge informtion is very important for the seller and the buyer. Evaluating the C2C websites' IA is good for improvement of the C2C websites' performance, and has very important realistic meaning for improving the websites' organization, architecture and presentation.Firstly, this study builds a set of IA evaluation plan of C2C electronic commerce websites. Then, based on the IA evaluation plan, the researcher evaluates two C2C websites--taobao and eachnet, examines the flaws in their websites'IA, and provides suggestions on how to improve the IA. In addition, this research analyses the situation of the IA and the marketshare of the two websites--taobao and eachnet, and provides a good support case for the viewpoint--"good IA is the key factor for the website's success". At last, the researcher makes some recomendations for improving C2C electronic commerce websites'IA in China.
