Research On The Technology Of Constructing Personalized Portal Website Based On WebParts

Nowadays, in order to satisfy various users' information inquiry and browsing request many portal websites are quite complex, moreover, the contents are all the same for all users when different users visit the same website and neglect users' personalized demands. With the mature of Internet and software technology, people's demands on the portal are higher and higher, and people are no longer satisfied with the browsing of static, fixed style, fixed content websites. Personalized Portal allows users to customize the contents, layout, style ...etc of website according to their need, and users can reset the portal. For users, personalized portal with convenient use, saving time, high security is more attractive than general portal; it is favorable for the Personalized Portal's Publicity and sale.There are many ways to realize the personalized portal, we can use a suitable platform (such as IBM WebSphere, BEA Weblogic, and Microsoft's SharePoint and so on) to further set-up and design. But it has some defects such as high difficulty in techniques, long development cycle, high development cost to construct and maintain personalized Portal in using the above technologies; While ASP.NET2.0's WebParts provide an easy way of defining the websites at runtime. WebPart is one of the new characteristics of Microsoft Visual Studio2005 in ASP.NET2.0, which is extracted from Microsoft SharePoint and introduced to ASP.NET2.0. Based on the WebPart application mechanism, combining the technology of platform ASP.NET2.0, a specific solution of establishing personalized portal is proposed in this paper. This solution is composed of four components including a group of Web Part Controls, a group of themes and styles, WebPart catalogs, authentication services and role-based management.Main work is as follows:①Analyze the portal concept, key technical problems and current mainstream portal development platforms;②Analyze one of the key technologies—SSO' design and implementation;③Emphasize on the solution of personalized portal based on WebParts;④Analyze the risk of personalized portal about importing WebParts, exporting WebParts, personalized resetting, and give the corresponding solutions.The method has been applied to actual personalized portals; the results show that it is easy-to-use and running well.
