The Designation And Implementation Of Cooperating Measurement Between Two CMMs

CMM(3 Dimensional Coordinate Measuring Machine) is a very important equipment of modern measurement. It is very easy to finish Construction figures, fast measurement of components and reverse engineering by combining CMM with measurement soft ware. So CMM is widely used in manufacturing and examination for the excellent works.However, single CMM show its shortcomings in modern large measurement. For making a large and accurate CMM is not merely a very difficult working but also inconvenient in using. Taking measure a car's parameters for example, the CMM need to go home after several measurements for the long path of the arm.The shortcomings of the single CMM make us find another way to solve this problem. So we join two CMMs together to build a virtual measurement system in practice working. It only enhances the complex of soft ware designation without any effect to the making of CMM. It is a very valuable method in industrial costs.The main working of this paper is to carry out the two-CMMs-virtual--measurement-system. First, we designed two types of driving for two kinds of CMM one for manual and another for auto. Using serial port to receive the CMM data in manual system while using I++ to drive and receive data from CMM in auto system. The coordination of two CMMs working of auto system is real utility. So this paper only focuses on this kind of using. Then we join two measurement systems together by TCP/IP and build a virtual measurement system. To make the virtual system work, we design the communication protocol between systems. To make the data between systems unity, we design the coordination coverage of the two systems. Base on these workings, the two-CMM-virtual-measurement-system is working.In the last chapter, we test and verify the methods above and approve the solution is correct.
