The development speed of multimedia is really fast especially the video aspect. The very big requirement of video information give us a big challenge to the current video compress technique. Many companies have their commercial products for example avi to the current rm or divx. Furthermore the ISO has made a series of standards for example MPEG or H.26x. Many researchers have optimized these algorithms. So it is very meaningful to perform the research on video compression coding also it is really a challenge.In this paper, firstly, we research the architecture for video compression coding. Motion and Compensation and DCT are the most important algorithms during the process of video coding. Then some research and improvement was made to those two algorithms. For Motion and Compensation, as the relativity of adjacent pixels block is big , this paper brings forward method of increasing numbers of reference pixels block at the basis of MVFAST algorithm. For DCT, aimed at the shortcoming of scanning steps is long when scanning the coefficients of matrix, this paper brings forward method of Hilbert scanning. At last combing project need, some modification and optimization was made to MPEG4 on Windows, then the modified MPEG4 can run on PNX1500.
